The quickest way to get where you want to go

Hi Reader,

I am coming to you today from a little lobby bar in Sydney Star Casino. There is some jazzy music playing, I’m sipping a double shot almond latte and writing this post – Life is good.

Here is a little nugget of wisdom that I fall back to time and time again. I will be the first person to put my hand up and say there have been times when I have hated what I was doing. Sometimes work, and life in general can feel like the biggest mission. Getting out of bed, feeling uninspired and knowing you are capable of so much more, yet you just feel stuck in a rut, and unsure of where to turn or how to get yourself out of it. Yep, I have been there.

I would like to share this one little sentence that always helps me.

The quickest way to get where you want to go, is to SHOW UP where you are now.

This short sentence, is what helps me attract what I am really wanting, almost every time.

To put this into perspective rewind about 8 months ago. I was in a job that I was starting to feel a little stale in. I felt like I had hit a brick wall and there wasn’t anywhere left for me to go. Getting up in the morning was hard, getting through my day was hard and I just felt an overall sense of purposelessness…. (not sure if this is a word, but let’s go with it.)

Despite feeling this way, I knew deep down that I wasn’t going to attract a job that I really wanted if I was in this state. Who wants to hire a miserable biatch with no passion or enthusiasm for what she is currently doing? I know if I had a business, and someone came in for an interview with stanky attitude, I’d say….. thank you next. Sometimes it is not even about what you say but the energy you give off. You can’t attract something you really want, when you’re in a low vibration. I know I am getting a little spiritual on you now, however stay with me.

When I got sick of feeling this way, this is where I started doing the work. I got up in the morning, got the job done and tried my best to see how lucky I was to have the job I had. I not only tried my best to FULLY show up for work, but I tried my best to show up for myself. I tried to find things to marvel at, and be grateful for. You know, that general zest for life that we often lose by burrying it in the mundane? I would book things in to look forward to and find pleasure in the little things like getting my morning coffee, seeing friends, ticking things off my to do list. Just finding a way to feel accomplished.

By doing this, I started to enjoy my life again, simply by changing my perspective and forcing myself to get my mojo back. Soon after, the perfect opportunity came up.

The key here is – Shit changes when you show up. Doors open when you show up. You become happier when you show up. You attract higher vibration experiences when you just show up, fully!

So if you are currently in a rut, not sure where to turn or what to do my best advice to you is to show up fully, right where you are, with what you have.

Those tiny little tasks you hate, go in and just get them done. When you walk into a room, or catch up with a friend, show up fully and be present. You can bring your best self to the present moment right now. You don’t have to wait until the perfect job lines up, or you get that thing you so badly want.

The time will pass anyway, you may as well show up and be accountable for the energy you’re bringing into the room. Once you do this, you’ll begin to see things shift.

If you stick with this, for even just 30 days, I would love to hear how you went.

Lots of love,

A
